True Leadership Coaching
Coaching for leaders stepping into authority they have never held before.
The role is new. The roadmap is yours to write. The work is internal.
Most executive coaching works on what you do — your decisions, your strategy, your team. This work goes one layer deeper, to the person you are when leading. The leaders we work with are not being promoted into well-worn seats. They are inheriting authority, defining roles that did not exist before, or stepping into the top of organizations they have not led before. That kind of transition is not a skill problem. It is an identity transition. The version of you that earned this seat is not the version of you that will lead from it. Our work is to make that becoming intentional, conscious, and grounded.
This coaching is built for a specific threshold.
The successor taking over a family business.
The president stepping in after a founder.
The first-time C-suite leader in a role they have never held or no one has held before.
The first-time head of school or executive director.
The high-capacity operator who transitions to setting the vision and direction
The senior leader or executive entrusted with authority larger than anything they have held, often while the role itself is still being defined.
What these leaders share is not a title. It is a moment. The seat is asking them to become someone they have not been before, and there is no internal roadmap telling them how.
This work is also for a specific kind of leader: one who is willing to look honestly at themselves. Strategy, feedback, and frameworks only go as far as that willingness. The clients who do this work well are not avoiding that examination. They came to do it.
Who This Is For
What We Work On
The work is identity-level, and it is practical. Across an engagement, we work on:
Authorship of the role. The role is still being defined. We build the clarity and conviction to author it rather than wait to inherit it.
The leader you are becoming. Vision, values, and the behaviors that hold your leadership together under pressure — named, articulated, and lived.
The patterns underneath. The instincts that drove early success — over-functioning, task-managing, people-pleasing, control, conflict-avoidance — surfaced honestly, so they stop driving you.
Strategic presence. The steadiness and decision-making clarity that leadership requires, especially in rooms where you are the newest person in the chair.
Cultural and relational integrity. A leadership presence that intentionally shapes the culture you want, instead of one that quietly reproduces the dynamics you grew up under.
A stable internal compass. So you are leading from clarity, not from the last conversation you had with a board member, a founder, or a report.
The Method
How the work is held
True Leadership Coaching is built on seven years of pattern-recognition with senior leaders in transition, and on a foundation that draws from design thinking (IDEO, Stanford d.School), leadership psychology (the Conscious Leadership Group), adult learning practices (Columbia’s Teachers College) and 13 years inside the classroom and delivering professional development learning how people actually change.
The engagement is held by proprietary frameworks developed inside Truth Collective: the True Leadership Commitments, Vision-Values-Behaviors, and Truth Talk® paired with exercises and assessments that map how each leader is uniquely wired. The frameworks are the scaffolding. The work is yours.
Testimonials
Lauren has a unique approach that allows us to discover, examine, and question the belief systems that inform our stories and how we lead others. Lauren serves as a mirror to show us the reasons for our choices, obstacles, fears, and motivations. Coaching is a safe space to talk openly about how we move through the world and influence those around us. My experience with Lauren has been transformative. Her coaching process allowed me to discover who I am as a person and decide for myself who I want to be as a leader.
-R.M., Senior Market President
I can’t tell you how much coaching has changed my life. I didn’t know what to expect at first, but I am showing up more authentically than I ever have before because of our work together.
-C.R., President
I walked away with a clear vision for myself and concrete steps to bring it to life. This work is already in motion. Lauren's facilitation was engaged, curious, and direct, exactly what I needed to move forward. If you're considering this work, please do it, not just for yourself, but for the team you're leading.
-M.P., President
One of the most beneficial parts of the coaching experience was going through it with my leadership team—sharing and hearing similar experiences brought a sense of unity and perspective.
I really valued the one-on-one time to focus on current challenges . Having Lauren’s fresh perspective helped us work through real issues in real time.
One unexpected—but essential—part of the experience was the assignments between sessions. They kept the process engaged and ongoing, and ultimately became a critical part of the growth journey.”
-D.C., Chief Operating Officer
As I reflect on my coaching experience, I was surprised by how practical it was to integrate personal growth into leadership within a company environment which is something I care deeply about.
It was tremendously beneficial to be transparent in our sessions and then translate that inner work into actionable leadership practices. The experience was both grounding and transformative.
-J.L., CEO
I gained three main things from my work with Lauren.
1. Confidence in my new leadership role and the unique value I bring to the team and company.
2. Identifying the most important priorities for my new role.
3. Identifying what makes me happy and what I am best at, so I could design my life and work accordingly.
-K.H., Chief Growth Officer
The Engagement
True Leadership Coaching is a 12-month engagement practice because identity-level leadership change takes longer than a quarter.
A standard engagement includes:
Twelve 60-minute 1:1 coaching sessions, via Zoom, used across the year
Vision, Values, and Behaviors mapping for the True Self in leadership
Assessments as relevant to the leader, such as a Human Design Blueprint, meeting observations, 360 review as the engagement calls for it
Unlimited between-session check-ins by text, email, or phone
Access to Truth Collective's frameworks and tools across the year
Engagements are renewed annually with re-clarified goals. Many clients work together for multiple years; the deeper work compounds.
For leaders and organizations sponsoring this work
This coaching is often sponsored by a founder, board, or organization for a strategically important leader — a successor, a first-time executive, an institutional or senior leader in their first chapter. When the work is sponsored, the engagement is held in full confidentiality with the leader, while the sponsoring stakeholder is kept oriented to scope, structure, and the integrity of the work. Custom engagements, multi-year structures, and parallel founder or team work are available.
Begin a Conversation
True Leadership Coaching is selective work. The fit matters — for the leader, for the organization, and for me. The first step is a conversation about the seat, the moment, and what you are trying to grow into.
The Investment
The twelve-month engagement is $12,000, available as a single payment or twelve monthly payments of $1,200. Custom and sponsored engagements are priced separately.
